Good Dearest Unhappy is a fragrance house where mythology, history, literature, and nature converge. Each scent is a story, imagined and composed by our in-house perfumer, with notes chosen for their evocative, transportive quality. Like impressionist art, we value emotion over literalness—capturing not the photograph of a moment, but its soul.

We craft our fragrances with organic sugarcane alcohol and the finest natural and safe synthetic ingredients, always sourced sustainably. Sustainability is paramount to us, which is why we use synthetic aromatic materials when natural materials present ecological or safety concerns.

Our fragrances are housed in glass vessels born of French artistry, crafted by a glassmaker whose heritage spans over 400 years.
Your Good Dearest Unhappy order arrives in sustainable packaging—each aspect has been considered and chosen for minimal ecological impact. All packaging is either recyclable, made of recycled materials, or is biodegradable.

Our giveback program
Each month, we spotlight a nonprofit doing good in our LA community and beyond. This month, we’re donating to The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) in Los Angeles. They work to support and advocate for the human and civil rights of immigrants and refugees by pushing for policy change, providing legal counsel, and more.
